I had the awesome privilege of doing my first newborn shoot a couple of weeks ago & just now am getting to share them with y’all! I had heard that newborns are really hard to shoot, but I really didn’t think it could be that hard. I’ll be honest, it was difficult! Making sure they stay happy & warm & asleep. Yeah, M really LOVES to be swaddled & really didn’t like it when we’d unswaddle her. So, most of the time, she was bundled up in her blanket & she really hated being on her tummy! So, I thought that would really hinder the shots I wanted to get and although I didn’t get all of them that I was hoping for, I couldn’t be happier with the way these turned out!! This is one special little girl & her family is just as special! Love y’all, H family! ♥

Here she is! Beautiful baby M! This cradle (also in the next shot) is really special. My great-grandfather built this & I’ve had it since I was a little girl. I’ve been saving it for if I ever have a daughter & I just knew that I had to use it in this shoot!

So, these blankets are definitely special! Their aunt crocheted them for them when they were born! They both love their blankets & you always see K carrying hers & M is usually bundled up in hers!

I was so excited to get shoot my first senior guy! L is our pastor’s son & a godly young man! God has great things in store for him! This family drove all the way from New York for me to do their photoshoot! Well, sort of. lol These are our beautiful godbabies & their parents and they came down for a visit. So, of course, while they were in town, we had to do a session! :) But, they did come from NY! lol Our shoot didn’t last too long because it was extremely hot…100 degrees before noon! And, the kids didn’t want much to do with all of it either! But, I got a few I’m definitely happy with. So, here’s a little peek for ya! J & T, hope y’all love these! Love y’all!

I had the privilege of having my first photo shoot with a client that I did not know. Let me tell you, I was nervous! But, I had the best time! A is just such a stunningly gorgeous young lady & an absolute blast! You’ll really see her personality coming through in her photos! She was such a natural & to think she’s never had real photos taken before! You’d think she was born in front of the camera! A, I hope you & your family love these as much as I do!

Now, I couldn’t even begin to narrow it down less than these 20 photos, so get ready for photo overload! :)

I know I don’t usually share personal stuff here on my photography blog, but today I am! Some of you know & some of you don’t know that I’ve been going through a lot lately, mainly health issues that we are still trying to work out. But, the Lord has allowed several trials to be a apart of mine & Alan’s lives right now! We don’t know why, but it’s part of His plan & we are just trying to trust Him & believe me, it’s hard! But, a couple weeks ago I heard this song on the radio & I have totally claimed it! It’s exactly what my life is right now & just means so much to me! I have shed so many tears & had a lot of sleepless nights! When I think about these trials, I just try to think of this song & the fact that I am still SO blessed! Now, if you’re going through a trial, or you’re a crier, get your tissues ready! I have a hard time getting through this song w/out crying! Which reminds me, please pray for me Sunday morning as I will be singing this in my church! It will be hard, especially since it is Mother’s Day & because of the some of the specific trials, but I know God will be with me & will help me get through this! I just know it will be such a blessing to others in my church as much as it has been to me!

You have seen this little girl here before from some random shots I’ve been able to capture of her. Well, this was our first official shoot & we had so much fun! She is such a beautiful little girl! I made this tutu to use for a prop & I couldn’t wait to try it out on little K! She was the perfect model for it too. I planned on her to wear the beads that you see her holding, but she just wanted to hold them. So, we went with that. And, the purple blanket, well, let’s just say it is her very special blanket! I love that we were able to capture some moments of her with here blanket. Enjoy!

I trust everyone, well, all of my American friends, had a happy 4th of July! Did y’all get to catch some amazing fireworks? We did & got to watch them with our dear family! My husband & I had so much fun learning how to take pictures of fireworks & sparklers & when it was time to actually shoot them, it was definitely successful! I couldn’t be any happier with these photos! So, I thought I’d share just a few of them with y’all. Hope y’all enjoy!

I have known this sweet couple since I was 12 years old. I love them dearly! This is their new sweet baby girl. They’ve been married for at least 13 years and this is their first child. She is an absolute beauty!

This past Tuesday was a very special day for Alan & me. Do you remember the family/maternity shoot I did of the D family back in November? Well, the wife, T, & the kids came to visit us. The husband, J, is in the military & has to have a will prepared before he’s deployed. They asked us to be the godparents of their children. We are absolutely honored! We love these little kiddos like crazy. Wednesday morning before they left, I had to make sure I got some pictures of them. So, I thought I’d share a couple here.

Aren’t they just too precious?! I just love her bright blue eyes.

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, and it is most definitely not winter here anymore! Right now, it is a gorgeous 84 degrees outside and I LOVE it! Want to see one of my favorite parts about spring?

I absolutely love seeing the flowers in bloom! This was taken last week on vacation in Ohio at my grandparents house. I took this on Wednesday while we sat on the front porch enjoying the 80 degree weather. On Friday, we had snow! I enjoyed my time with my family, but I sure am glad to be home where I can enjoy a real spring!
I just know that it won’t last long & summer will be upon us soon! So, for those of you graduating in 2011, summer is the perfect time to get your SR photos done! :)

Yes. It snowed today! For about 6 hours straight so far & it’s still going! We played out in it for about 2 hours & we are now freezing! But, it was SO fun! And, SO beautiful! And, we have about 6 inches right now.
Snow is one of my favorite things in the world! It makes me very happy! :)

So, I know I planned to have these pictures up earlier, but we had a little setback. My husband & I were in a car accident on Thursday evening. We’re okay, but I’m in a good bit of pain. I’m going for x-rays on Monday evening. There was too much swelling to go ahead and do them. I’m just now feeling well enough to sit at the computer long enough to post this. I still have a good bit of editing to finish up & hope to be able to do that tomorrow afternoon! Then, I’ll put a few more up then or on Monday. Enjoy!

So, I had to take a break from the maternity/family shoot photos to play with these. *Don’t worry, Tammi, I got a lot done today & plan to finish them up tomorrow!* Anyway. These are our three nieces. We got to spend Thanksgiving with them & it was our first time meeting the baby! I was excited to get a good picture of each of them!

These are some very dear friends to me! They are expecting baby number 2 in February & it’s a girl! When they found out we’d be in town on vacation, T, the mom, called and set up a shoot! I was excited that she wanted some bare belly shots & that it would be on the beach! The Dad, J, will be leaving for basic training with the Army in December, so they also asked me to do family photos. I haven’t got to those yet in my editing, so first I’ll share my faves from the maternity session. T, hope you love these! ☺

It's been awhile, huh?! I just wanted to share a few pictures that I've captured lately that I'm totally in love with! None of these were scheduled sessions, just happened to click my camera at the perfect time! :)
This first one is a little girl in our church, D. What I love about this picture is that it totally captures her personality 100%! She's sassy with a little attitude!

This next one, I'm pretty proud of. lol I've been wanting to get a really cool shot of a hummingbird! Let me tell you, those little guys are hard to photograph! We were at our pastor's house & they have tons of hummingbirds. So, I sat outside for a little while with my camera ready. Snapped about 200 pictures & got this one that I just love! Too bad it's the female, because the male ruby-throated ones are beautiful! But, the boys just wouldn't cooperate with me...they're camera shy! This last one is my adorable nephew, N! I love it!

I also want to tell you about the actions I used on these pictures! A good friend of mine, Sarah Cornish, is an amazing photographer! She's always done the most amazing edits to her pictures. So, she decided to start selling them! Let me tell you, you've got to get these! They're awesome! I was lucky enough to get to test some of them out for her & I'm totally in love! Don't even ask which ones are my favorite, because I don't know! I just recomment getting all of them! lol Go check her out at My4Hens Photography. She's got some fabulous freebies on there too! :)

A wedding & a road trip!

Well, it's been a little while, but I've been busy! DH & I along with my parents went on a 2 week, cross-country road trip! It was SO much fun! The main reason for the trip was my little brother's wedding. We hit 13 states in 14 days, and several of those we hit twice! Over 6,000 miles...it was a long trip, but it was great! So many memories that I'll never forget! So, here are about 50 pictures from the trip. Hope you enjoy! :)
Oh! And, I’m trying something new. The pictures on here are always so small and grainy, so I resized them a little bigger this time. Hopefully they’re not too huge! :)

Okay, so their reception wasn’t at the church where the wedding was & we had to walk through this huge farmer’s market to get there. It was so cool! Everyone was stopping and staring & pointing. It was great!

And, they’re off! :)

Okay, last one from the wedding. Doug & Amber have this adorable thing between them that Doug started doing when they started dating. He gives her bouncy balls. I don’t really know that entire story, but it’s adorable. Anyway, so, Doug found this huge, like bigger than a softball, bouncy ball that’s filled w/water & glitter & gave it to her when he first saw her on their wedding day! So, I took it around and took some pics of it! lol This one was my fave.

So, now for some pics from the trip.
The first place we stopped was the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery where my grandparents are buried. Richard Bullock is my Papa. The flag was at the cemetery too.

I have a major love for In-n-Out burgers! So, we ate there, I think 3 times on the trip! And, of course, I had to get a picture of it! Lol Doesn’t it look delicious?! Seriously the best burger ever! I’m craving it now!

Got to go on Route 66 for a little bit. That was neat.

On the Wednesday before the wedding, we went as a family to the Sequoia National Park…AMAZING!!! The first one is the whole family inside a giant sequoia.

On Saturday after the wedding, we went to San Francisco. Absolutely amazing! We really wanted to go on a cruise around the bay, but I was so sick that day. It was horrible. I tried to make the best of it, but I just couldn’t handle the water.

One day we went to Zion National Park in Utah…amazing!!!

We spent several hours one day at the Grand Canyon…absolutely breathtaking.

We also spent a couple of days in Vegas. We went to M&M World…so fun!, saw the Statue of Liberty at New York New York, went up in the Eiffel Tower, and lots of other stuff.

The fountains at the Bellagio Casino were absolutely amazing! One of the coolest things ever. We watched, I think, 4 different shows. Lol It was gorgeous! This is my favorite shot of the ones I got, but as you can see, got a little water on my camera. Oh well, at least I had a filter on it. :)

High Falls

I LOVE waterfalls! They are so gorgeous! I have had the privilege of going to Niagara several years ago & would love to go back! But, for now, God has allowed us to live very close to another gorgeous fall! No, it's nothing famous, but still amazingly stunning & beautiful! I love to go and take pictures of the falls. Sometimes, b/c of the mist, or if it's rained a lot, the pictures just don't turn out very pretty. But, this one particular day, it was perfect for taking pictures! Here are just a couple that I took that day.

I'm really excited about this coming Saturday! I'm doing a photoshoot for a teenage guy in our church. I'm going to be taking him down here to the falls. There are some amazing places for portraits! So, sometime next week, I'll put some of his pictures up here for ya.

Anyway. So, one of my other hobbies is making jewelry! What's crazy is I don't wear most of what I make. I just enjoy doing it. So, I usually just make them for gifts. Well, I was feeling creative today & decided to make a bracelet. But, I have nothing coming up that I need a gift for. So, I'm sure y'all have figured out by now, that I stink at this P365 thing! lol So, I've decided to stop! Oh, believe me, I'm not stopping taking pictures, just not taking them every day! I just lost the joy of it all. I LOVE photography!!! But, I hated running around at 11:50 PM trying to figure out something to take a picture of so that I didn't fail! But, for me, it's about capturing those special moments, not a goal to reach! But, since this is my photography blog, I will still post pictures some! We went to the one in Midtown Atlanta...not the best area in the world...so Alan asked me not to take the dSLR...so we took one picture at home before we left & I just took my little point & shoot w/us. Not the best pictures from it, but definitely captured the memories! Anyway, so here are the pictures! :)

The appetizer, cheese fondue. We did the cheddar cheese & it comes w/veggies, apples & yummy breads.

Then, the entree was delicious! We did the "Mojo" cooking style which is a vegetable broth w/fresh squeezed orange juice, lime juice, cilantro & garlic. Gave it a nice Carribean taste! And to cook in it came filet mignon, chicken breast, shrimp, balsamic sirloin, ahi tuna & lots of potatoes & veggies.

And, of course, you have to do it right & finish w/chocolate! We did the Chocolate Smores which is milk chocolate, marshmallow creme & graham cracker crumbs! YUMMY

This is what came to dip in the chocolate! Strawberries, bananas, rice krispy treats, pound cake, cheesecake, brownies, graham cracker coated marshmallows & oreo coated marshmallows! mmm....

And, to top it all of, we had this nice surprise most of the drive home...SNOW!!!

DAY 9 & another update!!

Wow! First let me start by saying that God is SO good! And, thank y'all SO much for all of your prayers!!! My appointment with the surgeon went GREAT! He said that legally, he cannot tell me he is 100% sure that it's nothing b/c he didn't do a biopsy. But, he is 99.9% sure that it is nothing! I've had a really bad sinus infection for almost 2 months now and he believes it to just be an inflamed lymphnode. The one lymphnode is trying to do all the work itself & not letting the others help filter out the infection. lol So, it has become inflamed. He said really the only reason to do the surgery & biopsy right now would be for peace of mind. He wants us to keep an eye on it. If it starts to get bigger or other knots start to show up, then we are to call & schedule the surgery immediately. But, if not, then we're not planning on doing the surgery. We have a re-evaluation in March, just for him to look at it one more time. So, right now, it's really just nothing! I'm on another round of antibiotics for this sinus infection, so there's really nothing left to do but watch it! So, in other words, GOD IS GOOD!!!!! Thanks again for all of your prayers! I love y'all!

Day 6 & some news.

I just got back from the doctor & have some not so great news. I have a knot on my neck. We noticed it around Thanksgiving but didn't give too much thought to it. It hasn't gone away, so I finally went to the doctor. My grandfather died from cancer in his lymphnodes & when my mom had her mastectomy they found cancer in her lymph nodes. So, I knew back in my head that there's that possibiliy. Well, the doctor said, it's definitely my lymph nodes & it's not a cyst (that's what we were hoping for). I have to have surgery to have it removed & biopsied. The doctor said that there is the possibility it could be cancer. I'm having a hard time taking all of this in. Please be praying for me! I will let y'all know as soon as we get the surgery scheduled. I'm a Christian & a huge believer of prayer! I know whatever it is, it's part of God's plan for my life. I'm just trusting Him!

Project 365

Hey y'all! Well, I've decided to start blogging again. But, this time I want to use this blog for my photography, but mainly Project 365. Project 365 is a challenge to take one picture every day for the whole year. I'm really going to try to stick to this this year. I want my pictures to kind of document that day.
